Poker-online doesn't often hit mainstream press very often, but the Bet365 Poker scam has become one of the exceptions. And even though it does not precisely bode well for poker-online that mainstream audiences are being confronted with Bet365's malpractices, it's still quite interesting on the other hand.
Looking at news flash headlines from the past day or two, On-line poker Journal, Hoax Watch as well as the Kentkucky Telegraph Magazine were just a few massive mass media agencies covering the Bet365 Poker fraud that's currently being labeled a ponzi scheme.
Needless to say, anytime a multi-billion business starts circumventing the strategies of a normal business and putting online poker players money at risk, the scenario is bound to end up being major news. This is just not to imply that Bet365 Poker didn't have purpose of paying online players back when customers called for cashouts, but the even bigger problem is that they lied to them regarding how much cash was being kept.
On top of that, those at the top of the company were taking tens of millions of $ out to fatten their personal wallets, rather then preserving players' money in the actual company where it belonged. One of the many examples that this fraud has escalated is that many people deposited money in to Bet365 Poker employing their PayPal account. The transfer went perfectly and was credited to the gamblers account.
The trouble occured as soon as the players logged in to start gambling when a browser window suddenly popped up stating "Your Account Was Closed Because Of Safety Problems".
Of course the players went haywire and claimed their funds back immediately but the only response from the Bet365 support was: "Sorry to say We can't refund the cash until you mail security papers like Photo Identification, proof of address to us".
Derek, one among the many poker players affected, told to us "Exactly what type of company is this...really??".
He continues "They authorized the deposit in seconds but when logged in this specific message that the account have been closed simply pops up", "I thought okay no worries, I will proceed to another internet poker network so I contacted their support who laughed and said, we simply cannot repay you before sending in all security documents has been submitted...After all, seriously, I did not play a single game of poker before they stole my cash and closed down the account."
We have gotten numerous emails with equivalent reports of the Bet365 Poker Scam, how they shut down the players accounts right after a verified deposit have been made.
